Lovely hotel, rooms are a bit dated but are well equipped and spotless clean. All of the staff were really nice and helpful. Location by the beach is excellent. We dined at the hotel 2 nights, the pizza and pasta was really good. I would definitely recommend and I would book again next time we return to Alghero.
I really feel people should be aware of this hotel, which is rated 4 stars!!!
This was to be one of my last trips to Europe for a long time, as I live in Australia, what an utter disappointment. I have been to many European destinations over the years, including camping, all an absolute pleasure, but this truly ruined my last European trip. The pictures tell a different story!!! It looks nothing like them, very run down and unkempt.
The only saving grace is the morning staff at the breakfast buffet, always helpful and kind, and housekeeping ladies were pleasant.
Restaurant: hotel places all it's energy on the restaurant, the food is good, however our last meal there was cold and wine was warm, there's a guy, who seems to be the head waiter, he is downright rude, if you haven’t reserved a table, God help you!!, when you do reserve, you're made feel in the way, they rush your meal.
Rooms: awful......no facilities, I.e. no kettle, no iron, no phone, absolutely nothing, there's not even a leaflet to explain anything in hotel, no laundry facilities. The air-conditioning looks like it could explode at any point. NOISE....you can hear everything, when your neighbour flushes toilet, uses tap.... WiFi is terrible most of the time. We had none for 2 days
Pool: dirty, never cleaned, i.e., leaves and debris floating in it, ruins your bathing suit.....maybe too much chlorine, as all our swimsuits were ruined, turned orange. You rely on the pool, as the sea/beach is absolutely disgusting, dirty/smelly.
Nobody speaks English. When I checked out, no smile, no thank you, just pay.......all for the lovely price of €1251.74,for 7 nights, absolute extortionate for what it is!!!!
Location is good, but as far as Alghero goes, there are a million nicer places in Europe to go.
Great hotel with delicious meals in the restaurant on the ground floor. Rooms were very tidy. We've left charger in the hotel room and checked out. Realised about whole situation already in our home. I called the hotel and they agreed to send it back to me. Thanks a lot guys!
Very bad experience. This hotel does not belong to 4* hotels at all.
The photos of the hotel and rooms do not quite correspond to reality. In the photo - a nice hotel, in real life -old and unkempt hotel. The room in the photo is quite big and sunny and in reality the room is small and dark. Three chairs and a mess on the terrace and dirty pool.
The hotel is old and not maintained. From the outside, you can already see weeds growing from the balconies.
The room was small and balcony was dirty, unkempt and moldy - cobwebs and mold on the walls, chips on the floor. There was a dirty bedspread on the bed. The walls between the rooms are very thin and I'm not talking about the door - you could put a curtain there and it would have a same effect. You can hear every single movement behind the door and everything from the neighbouring rooms. I woke up in the morning to people walking around, talking in the room next door, or the cleaning lady doing her job. I felt like I was in an old hospital. The furniture in the room is old, but I had no problem with that. I spent 3 nights in this hotel and didn’t sleep at all. I woke up all night to flush - the flush from other rooms is very noisy. Also the smoke sensor is directly above the bed and flashes all the time and illuminates the room during the night.
The location of the hotel is great, but it is the only great thing about the hotel. I wouldn't come back here again.
Very old and tired hotel the rooms were ordinary and very small, batgroom small and toilet flushing just plain weird, the bfast dining mo re like a cafeteria style breakfast area, ok but nothing amazing. Location fantastic, pool fantastic,
Nice staff, close to city centre 15 min walk! Nice view from the room. The hotel located in the front of the beach. The restaurant service of the hotel is lovely, the food is nice and we try an absolutely wonderful wine if you ever pas from there just ask for this wine “Gussau” it is produced in Sardinia🤍 …
Hotel Soleado is a lovely hotel in the heart of Alghero, boasting seafront views and central location. The staff were lovely and accommodating and check in was straightforward.
The hotel room was basic (for a 4* hotel) but has everything you need. A mini fridge, safe, toiletries, towels, a bed, drawers, TV, wardrobe, coat hanger and obviously en suite. The room was clean, however the cleaning duties appeared rushed as furniture was still out of place on arrival.
We paid €45 for one night, so I would say for the price, the hotel was fantastic as it was perfectly located and has a beautiful outdoor pool and outdoor pool lounge.
I would definitely however stay here again as it was all we needed for the night. Had I needed to, I could have even stayed for a week without hesitation. No bells and whistles, just a basic room and access to the pool and located in a convenient location. 4/5 (star lost because of the basic room). But apart from that a lovely hotel
Wonderful stay. Friendly staff, beautiful views, and a restaurant with some amazing pizzas. My only complaint is that the hotel seems to give more attention to the restaurant than the hotel. They shut down the pool in order to add more tables at dinner and they fill most of the lounge space around the pool with tables at lunch. It makes sense once you eat there - the food was really good - but I came in a bigger group and we came for the pool!
